2014 | - Changes name to “ShelterPoint Life Insurance Company” and introduces a new logo and updated look.
- Acquires J.M.I.C., a Florida-domiciled insurance company licensed in 48 states and territories as a wholly-owned subsidiary carrier; changes subsidiary’s name to “ShelterPoint Insurance Company” to sync the branding of both entities
- Together, both entities are branded under the name ShelterPoint*. From this point on, all policies are administered by ShelterPoint Life Insurance Company, and underwritten by either ShelterPoint Life Insurance Company or ShelterPoint Insurance Company, depending on the state and product.

- Begins business relationship with UGP (d/b/a OptiMed) to distribute and administer our Medical Gap Insurance in numerous states in which it is approved
- Recognized as a Ward’s 50 Top Performer

2018 | - Adds Paid Family Leave (PFL) as a rider to DBL based on the new requirement for NY employers to provide Paid Family Leave benefits
- Honored with the Insurance Team of The Year Award from the Insurance Advocate
- Receives Certificate of Recognition from New York Senator Todd Kaminsky for its outstanding service to the community with respect to Paid Family Leave awareness and education

2019 | - Richard White, CEO, honored by the College of Mount Saint Vincent and appointed as a member of the Life Insurance Council of New York’s (LICONY) Board of Directors
- Works closely with Wesco as they withdraw from the DBL/PFL market in NY by contacting their impacted DBL/PFL clients and help them secure uninterrupted DBL/PFL coverage effective 01/01/2020 - resulting in more than 30,000 new policyholders

2020 | Adds NY Emergency Covid-19 Paid Sick Leave benefits to DBL/PFL benefits based on the new requirements from NY State and launches COVID-19 Resource Center to keep customers informed on all the newly evolving changes. |
2021 | - Begins providing Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML) in Massachusetts as this becomes a required coverage in MA
- Begins quoting for Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML) in Connecticut, which will become required in CT in 2022
- Currently insures more than 184,000 NY policyholders1
